Idrostudi develops advanced solutions for water distribution systems (WDS) and sewerage networks, applying academic and field-tested knowledge to improve system performance and management, in Italy and worlwide. Through numerical modelling, design and optimisation, the company supports innovative engineering practices that enhance the efficiency, reliability and resilience of water-supply and wastewater infrastructures.
The project supports the development of resilient and sustainable rural water supply systems across priority villages in Georgia under the Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Development Framework (2021–2030), with the support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
It aims to improve access to safe and reliable drinking water in underserved rural and mountainous areas, enhancing quality of life, public health, and climate resilience.
Idrostudi contributed to the technical assessment and cost evaluation of water supply solutions for more than 40 rural settlements, supporting the identification of suitable abstraction systems, treatment technologies, and distribution network configurations.

Services and Solutions Idrostudi realized the technical consultancy and engineering support for the assessment and preliminary planning of rural water supply systems in Georgia. Institutional support was provided to strengthen the capacity of the United Water Supply Company of Georgia (UWSCG) and the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure (MRDI). This includes training on smart water supply technologies, operations and maintenance (O&M), planning, and budgeting.
Idrostudi focused on:
- Delivered capacity-building programs and on-the-job training for local staff on smart water technologies and O&M practices.
- Technical assessment of rural water supply schemes and infrastructure needs;
- Evaluation of alternative water abstraction systems, including wells, springs, and river intakes;
- Analysis and comparison of water treatment technologies such as ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, sand filtration, UV disinfection, and chemical treatment systems;
- Development of preliminary distribution network layouts and infrastructure configurations;
- Preparation of cost estimates for water supply infrastructure, treatment facilities, and network installation works;
- Support in defining sustainable and climate-resilient engineering solutions for rural communities;
- Advisory support for improving operational efficiency, water quality, and long-term maintenance strategies.
